A Brief Biography

Tia Tashiro is a multiracial speculative fiction writer hailing from the Pacific Northwest. She is a 2026 Hugo finalist in the short fiction category for the story “Missing Helen” and was an Astounding Award finalist in 2025. Her work has appeared in Clarkesworld, Apex, and Uncanny and been translated into Chinese. By day, she works in cognitive science; by night, she writes; and in between, she dabbles in stained glass and juggling, though never at the same time.
